Balthazar is opening in London's Covent Garden this week! Perfect timing with the closing of yet another fabulous London Fashion Week. I haven't been this excited about a restaurant opening since, well, I've been in London really that I decided it needed its own post. The famous NYC eatery was one of my personal favorite Sunday brunch hangouts while I was living in NYC. Officially a French brasserie with the best Salad Nicoise and Eggs Benedict I've ever had, make sure to check out the London version here and make a reservation now as the wait list is already filling up!

In addition to enjoying the A/W'13 menswear shows during Milan Fashion Week, I was able to get in some necessary sightseeing. The Duomo was even more grand and stunning than I remember it. With London and Milan under our belts, next up is Paris Fashion Week. I will not be physically attending this year but will be covering the final installment of the menswear A/W'13 shows in the upcoming days!

I went to Barneys New York yesterday in San Francisco to do some last minute shopping and came out with a nicely sized Electric Holiday shopping bag (the current holiday campaign between Barneys and Disney). However, it wasn't apparent to me the relevance of Barneys Electric Holiday campaign with Disney until later on in the day when I watched this video. Barneys is a luxury department store and Disney is the creator of our childhood stories and fantasies. What is to gain by these two companies efforts in the key gifting period of the year except maybe to support Barneys childrenswear division?
How wrong was I! The partnership is clearly aimed at adults. It is a playful representation of the fashion industry and an innovative change from the more serious and exclusive image usually portrayed by the fashion industry. Watching Minnie Mouse take the catwalk in Paris modeling Lanvin with Suzy Menkes, Sarah Jessica Parkera and Glenda Bailey to name a few in the audience is so much fun! So many more surprises so push play above and enjoy the current fashions with the magic of Disney.

There is nothing more American than Thanksgiving and nothing more New York than than the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Covered in thick coats and warm colors, friends and families gathered together along the West Side apartments this morning for mimosas, coffee, and pastries overlooking Central Park and the parade. We were lucky to be invited to one of these special gathering. Magic occurs in the small spaces of this city, where dark colors, thick furs, modern leather cuts, and vintage style come together to embody what is the epitome of American holiday fashion.

My favorite part of Halloween is surprisingly not the dressing up but the decorating! During my recent trip to NYC (see NYC Photo Diary), I decided to showcase decorations throughout the city for today's Halloween post. Pumpkins galore was the obvious theme in NYC (minus one Brioni jacket in the most vibrant orange color I have ever seen). Happy Halloween!
